THE
Tobishima Kaido

とびしま海道

Seven Enchanting Islands Floating in the Seto Inland Sea

The islands of the Tobishima Kaido are thought to resemble steppingstones and connect to the mainland via a series of impressive bridges.

The region is famous for its citrus groves and its historic trading ports. These harbors along the Tobishima Kaido flourished during the Edo period (1604-1868) being perfectly placed to attract the Kitamaebune trading ships that sailed between Hokkaido and Osaka.

As well as its breathtaking scenery and warm climate, the Tobishima Kaido is blessed quiet roads – perfect for cyclists.
